John Wall on Bradley Beal: ‘We have a tendency to dislike each other’

Wizards point guard John Wall has his Washington Wizards in title contention.

This is exactly what the Washington Wizards brass wants to hear less than two months after signing Bradley Beal to a five-year, $128 million max deal.

Fellow back-court star John Wall spoke out about his relationship with Beal recently — comments that shouldn’t make Wizards fans feel all cozy.

“I think a lot of times we have a tendency to dislike each other on the court,” Wall said about his relationship with Beal, via CSN Mid-Atlantic.

For his part, Beal seemed to give a reasonable explanation for the volatility the two share on the court itself.

“It’s tough because we’re both alphas,” Beal said. “It’s always tough when you have two guys who firmly believe in themselves, who will bet on themselves against anybody else, who want to be that guy. We both can be that guy.”

This really could be much ado about nothing. Simply because the two have a “tendency to dislike one another” and are “alphas,” it doesn’t mean they can’t coexist on the court moving forward.

Unfortunately for the Wizards, the two have led a bitterly disappointing Wizards squad over the past couple seasons. Should that continue, their relationship might to take a hit.
