Independent League baseball team offers Tim Tebow contract

Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow now has an offer to play baseball professionally.

Mere hours after it was reported that Tebow has been training to make that switch from the gridiron to the baseball diamond, comes this rather interesting information.

It’s not yet known whether Tebow will take this offer. Though, it appears to be the first contract offer he’s received from a professional baseball team.

The Schaumburg Boomers play in the Frontier League and are not associated with any Major League Baseball organization.

Tebow’s interest in baseball came out of left field (almost literally). Though, he had success playing on the diamond as an All-State high school player in Florida, hitting .494 during his junior season.

It’s obvious that the Boomers’ offer to Tebow is nothing more than a publicity stunt. Though, it will be interesting to see if he actually decides to take his act to Illinois.

We’ll hear more about this story as it becomes available.
