ESPN writer calls Trevor Siemian’s arm ‘gift from the gods’

If ESPN’s Jeff Legwold was in charge of choosing a starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos, it is safe to say he would award the job to Trevor Siemian.

After all, Legwold is literally comparing the second-year signal caller’s arm to a “gift from the gods.” He also said that he has never watched a player progress so far during a single offseason.

While we are not exactly privy as to what is going on at the Broncos’ practices, we know what Siemian’s numbers are thus far in the two preseason games for which he has played.

Siemian has completed 17-of-26 passes for a total of 163 yards, zero touchdowns and one really bad interception that turned into six points the other way (watch here).

At this time, the Broncos have determined that Siemian will start in the third preseason game that takes place on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Siemian’s competitors, Mark Sanchez and rookie Paxton Lynch, will take snaps later in the game. Sanchez is struggling with turnovers (no surprise there) and could be fighting to keep his spot on the final 53-man roster.

If Lynch continues to stand out, he may assume the No. 2 role behind Siemian (Odin willing). Or, he could potentially be the starter if things keep progressing in his favor and if Siemian turns the ball over again (darn that pesky Loki).
