Dez Bryant out this week after suffering concussion

Missing one preseason game isn’t a big deal. Suffering a concussion less than three weeks before the start of the regular season could be something to worry about.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant apparently suffered a concussion during practice on Monday and will miss this week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

It’s not yet known how Bryant was injured, but he now must pass through the NFL’s concussion protocol in order to return to the field in time for Week 1.

For his part, Bryant took to the social media world following the announcement to indicate that he’s okay.

Bryant, 27, was limited to just nine games a season ago after suffering a broken foot that required two separate surgeries.

While this injury is in no way similar, how a player reacts to a concussion will tell us how long he might be sidelined.

Dallas is most definitely going to need Bryant healthy throughout the entire season if it expects to rebound from last season’s disastrous 4-12 performance.
