Dana White nixes third Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz fight

UFC president Dana White is shockingly not interested in a third bout between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, based on comments he made to TMZ Sports.

The war was fun and super successful but I’m movin’ on,” White said.

Instead, he wants McGregor to either fight Jose Aldo or surrender his 145-pound title belt to the featherweight challenger, or he can drop down to 155 pounds and fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title.

The Irish fighter now has a record of 20-3 in his mixed martial arts career after beating Diaz in a 4-1 decision at UFC 202.

He has expressed disdain towards the idea of fighting Aldo again after what happened the last time the two men stepped into the Octagon together. The 13-second knockout McGregor served up against Aldo was one UFC fans will never forget.

Instead, McGregor has hinted that perhaps his next gig might not be in the UFC at all.

“There’s a lot of options,” McGregor said after UFC 202, per Damon Martin of FOX Sports. “Some might not be this sport.”

UFC fans certainly hope a third bout against Diaz is in the cards. The two fighters put up one of the most memorable matches in years over the weekend, and now that the career battle is tied, it’s time to decide a true winner.
