HS coach of Dak Prescott confident he will succeed

Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Dak Prescott will be the guy responsible for calling the signals for what could be half the season or longer while Tony Romo remains sidelined.

Prescott’s former high school football coach Rodney Guin weighed in on the situation. The good news is he believes the Cowboys should be just fine in Romo’s absence.

“Dak always prided himself in being ready to play,” Guin said via TMZ Sports. “He was the most prepared guy on the team … he was a leader in practice, he earned the respect of all the older players and I can see him doing that on a professional level.”

From the sampling we have seen this preseason, we can see why Guin is all aboard Prescott hype train.

Prescott has been nothing less than stunning passing for 454 yards and five touchdowns in three partial games. Noteworthy is the 78 percent completion rate and the fact he’s added a couple of rushing touchdowns.

Surely, things will settle down a bit once Prescott begins the regular season. Although, Prescott appears to be a complete breath of fresh air compared to Dallas’ disastrous combination of backups from last season.

If Prescott impresses, the Cowboys likely will not be in the rush they were last year to get Romo back into the game.

This is provided that Romo’s job is still safe once he does regain full health.
