After a disappointing first campaign with the Buffalo Bills, running back LeSean McCoy has put in some serious work to bounce back in 2016.

After speaking with some of the members of Buffalo’s staff, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport passed along this message:

This is the type of commitment one would expect from a top-tier player who, just last year, landed a huge deal (details here) to pound the rock for the Bills. After signing the big contract last season, McCoy’s fullback, Jerome Felton, boasted he could rush for 2,000 yards.

Obviously that did not happen. McCoy ended up battling injuries and missed four games, failing to account for even 1,000 yards rushing (895).

Health was something that many wondered about when McCoy was traded to the Bills, as the running back had already endured six years of bone-crushing action with the Philadelphia Eagles.

If he has indeed managed to turn back the clock and get his body into better shape, then McCoy will not only help Buffalo’s offense evolve into a monster but he’ll also once again become a fantasy football god.

One of the quickest running backs through the line in the league, McCoy can break off any run for six points. He’s also a capable receiver, which makes him extremely valuable in PPR leagues, for those of you who play fantasy football.

Perhaps this year more than others, McCoy staying healthy and on the field is of utmost importance for the Bills. With Karlos Williams sidelined for the first four games and rookie Jonathan Williams already getting into off-field trouble (more on that here), it’s going to be up to McCoy to carry the running game early in the season.

Perhaps he’ll get a bit of help in the form of former Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush, who is reportedly set to sign a one-year deal with the Bills.
