Report: Bulls cancel meeting with Dwyane Wade over flight delays

Dwyane Wade

Set to meet with NBA free agent Dwyane Wade on Wednesday, the Chicago Bulls cancelled the deal when flight plans got in the way.

But there’s hope, Bulls fans! “If Wade is still serious,” writes Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, then “Chicago could travel to meet him on Thursday.”

Now, this is just me spit balling here, but it seems like the Bulls could have made this work. Or, perhaps there was a mutual understanding at play here. Perhaps Wade was getting weary after meeting with the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks.

Still, this development doesn’t appear to bode well for the Bulls in their quest to insert Wade into the lineup with Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler.

On the other side of the coin, this could be terrific news for the Miami Heat. Despite what has been described as an “all-time low” relationship between Wade and the Heat, there is still a sentiment around the league that he will end up in Miami once again (more on that here).

On that note, Stefano Fusaro of NBC 6 in Miami passed along this interesting development.

This would appear to be a matching offer to the one the Nuggets have reportedly put on the table for Wade to move to Denver.

It’s going to be interesting to see if Wade can get comfy with the brass in Miami once again or if he feels spurned enough already to throw his lot in with another club. It probably won’t be much longer before we all get to find out.
