Bears first-round pick Leonard Floyd carted off practice field

Leonard Floyd

The Chicago Bears and head coach John Fox are expecting a lot from rookie first-round pick Leonard Floyd this season.

The EDGE rusher from Georgia is slated to play a major role at outside linebacker in the team’s 3-4 scheme after recording 17 sacks in three seasons with the Bulldogs.

Unfortunately, it looks like Floyd’s career has gotten off to a horrible start. The rookie top-10 pick was carted off the practice field on Thursday.

It’s not yet known where the injury is and how severe it might be. However, Floyd having to leave his first practice as a member of the Bears on a cart is most definitely not a good sign.

The 24-year-old pass rusher is slated to be Chicago’s primary backup at both outside linebacker spots this season. Any major injury would obviously set those plans back big time.

We will have further information once it becomes available.
