The Jacksonville Jaguars decided to cash in on the hottest trend of the summer with a Pokemon Go night.

The early results show the event is a smashing success. More than 10,000 people registered for the event, leading to lines extending well outside of EverBank Field.

Frankly, it’s somewhat surprising that that many people in Jacksonville know where EverBank Field is. You wouldn’t know it to watch the Jaguars’ home games.

In all seriousness, this is the kind of promotion that teams who struggle with attendance (like Jacksonville) should do more often. If it’s successful, more people throughout the city will be happy with the team. That could theoretically bring positive results to actual in-game attendance.
