Report: Timberwolves and Bulls in talks to trade Jimmy Butler for Kris Dunn

Jimmy Butler

The Minnesota Timberwolves drafted Providence point guard Kris Dunn at No. 5, in the 2016 NBA Draft but he might not be staying there for long. Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting the Chicago Bulls are in talks with the T-Wolves about trading Dunn for Jimmy Butler.

There has been a lot of smoke about Chicago moving Butler Thursday, and this only further shows how much the Bulls want to start from scratch after a rough handful of seasons.

Butler is a tremendous scoring threat, and many thought he’d be the central point of Chicago’s offense once the Derrick Rose trade with the New York Knicks went through.

But it seems like the Bulls can’t get rid of Butler fast enough. Perhaps it has something to do with criticism he lobbed at the franchise recently.

Dunn is going to be spectacular wherever he lands. A true two-way player who excells defensively, many thought him a natural fit for Tom Thibodeau and the T-Wolves. We’ll see what happens soon enough on this one.
