The New York Knicks are already having a busy offseason. After adding Derrick Rose on Wednesday, Thursday brought news that the Knicks will be getting frontcourt help in the form of 2015 draftee Guillermo Hernangomez. Agent Andy Miller announced his intentions on Thursday.

“It is my intent to reach an agreement with the Knicks and have Willy come to New York for next season and beyond,” Miller said, per Adrian Wojnarowski, The Vertical.

Hernangomez was selected in the second round (No. 35 overall) in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was traded to New York later that day and remained in Spain last season.

While being stashed in Spain for the 2015-16 season, Hernangomez played for Real Madrid and averaged 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. His 2014-15 campaign was better. That year, he averaged 10.1 points and 5.7 rebounds a game playing for Baloncesto Sevilla.

Hernangomez will also have at least one familiar face on his new team. During the 2014-15 campaign, he and current Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis were teammates.
