Fake Stephen Curry texts after Finals loss are hilarious

Stephen Curry

Two-time reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry knows that he didn’t play his best basketball in the Finals against the eventual champion Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s said as much multiple times following Sunday’s heartbreaking Game 7 loss.

Curry owning up to his lackluster play and the mistakes he made throughout the series hasn’t been enough for others to stop throwing shade his way.

That’s the nature of the beast when you’re such a high-profile player on a team that broke numerous records during the regular season. That’s only magnified when you fail to show up on the game’s grandest stage.

Some of the shots that have been thrown Curry’s way have been utterly ridiculous. Others have been absolutely hilarious.

This following fake-text sequence between Curry and those surrounding what he accomplished (and failed to accomplish) might be the best of them all.

The best one? We’d probably have to go with the text Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo “sent.” Though, the “old people” message was almost as good. Of course, that’s in reference to the disturbingly bland shoe release Curry and Under Armour came out with during the Finals.

Curry won’t be living down his substandard Finals performance any time soon. That much is for sure. All he can do now is hope to be able to rebound in a few short months when the 2016-17 season comes calling.

Until then, he might want to stay away from social media — advice that should also be headed his wife’s way.
