Brandon Jennings sitting behind Cavaliers bench for Game 7

Soon-to-be free agent Brandon Jennings will be sitting directly behind the Cleveland Cavaliers bench for Game 7 of the NBA Finals Sunday night in Oakland.

There isn’t a whole heck of a lot we can read into this outside of the fact that Jennings fancies himself as a NBA fan. He’s been tweeting about the Finals all series.

Interestingly enough, the Golden State Warriors chose Stephen Curry over Jennings during the 2010 NBA Draft. This came amid reports that the Warriors would select Jennings at No. 7 overall. Instead, the team opted for the two-time reigning NBA MVP.

Jennings, 26, split time between the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic last season, putting up career low averages in points per game (6.9), rebounds per game (2.0) and assists per game (3.5).

Though, the still young guard had put up 15-plus points per game in each of his first six seasons, including a 19.1 average back in 2011-12.

Likely a highly sought-after free agent, Jennings could very well find himself in a position to transition from point guard to the off guard position. If so, the Cavaliers, who might see J.R. Smith depart in free agency, could be interested.
