Isaiah Renfro, a sophomore, has announced his decision to leave the Washington football team as he deals with depression and anxiety.
Renfro, saying he’s been “in a dark place” made the tough announcement via his Twitter account, detailing his struggles and thanking his coaches and teammates for their support.
Been debating on posting this but this is me taking steps in the right direction to becoming myself again.. pic.twitter.com/ptE1k9oKKJ

“I was in a special program for people like me, that taught me how to cope with my problems and what to do when I hit my lowest of lows,” he wrote.
As a true freshman in 2015, Renfro appeared in all 13 games for the 7-6 Huskies, catching 13 passes for 178 yards.
We wish him well as he continues to recover.
