Stephen Curry: Chances are pretty good I will play Game 3

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry sprained his MCL during the team’s first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets last Sunday.

Initial indications were that Curry was going to miss two weeks after an MRI showed a Grade-1 sprain.

Since advancing to the second round of the playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers, there’s been some optimism that Curry could return before that two-week time frame.

Being interviewed during the Warriors’ Game 1 outing against the Trail Blazers on ABC, Curry indicated that the chances are pretty good that he will return for Game 3 next Saturday in Portland.

This somewhat fits what Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said on Saturday. Though, Curry seems a bit more confident than his head coach.

It’s all going to depend on how Curry responds to rehab and whether he’s able to go through practice in the lead up to next Saturday’s game.

What we do know is that Curry is unlikely to play in Game 2 on Tuesday.
