Another young NFL player is reportedly calling it quits. Walter Thurmond, best known from his time with the Seattle Seahawks’ Legion of Boom, is retiring at the age of 28, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This news isn’t altogether surprising, as Thurmond has reportedly been contemplating retirement since March. At the time, per Les Bowen of Philly.com, Thurmond asked “who started that rumor?” But when pressed on the subject, he wouldn’t respond to shoot down the rumor.

Thurmond played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015, forcing five turnovers (three interceptions and two forced fumbles). He started all 16 games last year as a safety and left for the offseason without any health complications.

It was the best statistical year of his career and the first time in which he was a full-time starter.
