Kings’ Darren Collison arrested for domestic violence

Sacramento Kings point guard Darren Collison was arrested for domestic violence on Tuesday.

Collison has been booked into Placer County Jail. He’s being charged on one count of “inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant,” per CBS Sacramento. He is also being charged with two misdemeanor bench warrants because he was driving on a suspended licence.

His status with the franchise is potentially in jeopardy, but the Kings have yet to make any decision and will allow the process to play.

“We’ve been made aware of the situation,” the Kings said in a statement Tuesday, per the report. “The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information, and once all facts are known, we will take appropriate steps.”

Collison is in the last year of a three-year deal he signed with the Kings in 2014.
