Report: Chicago Bears release Pro Bowler Antrel Rolle

After selecting two safeties in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have reportedly released three-time Pro Bowler Antrel Rolle:

This is tough timing for the veteran safety, who now has to find a way to latch on to another team after most squads filled out their 90-man rosters during the weekend.

Rolle, 33, started all seven games in which he appeared for the Bears last year, his only season with the team. He recorded 35 tackles and one pass defended in the process.

This came after five largely successful seasons with the New York Giants that saw the former Arizona Cardinals top-10 pick start all 80 games while earning two Pro Bowl appearances.

Rolle will now likely have to wait until the summer to catch on with another team. Though, there should be some interest in his services at some point prior to training camp.
