Petition to bring Tim Tebow to Denver has over 10,000 signatures

Prior to the Denver Broncos trading up for Paxton Lynch in last week’s draft, a petition encouraging the team to bring Tim Tebow back was launched by Will Garner through change.org.

At this time, the petition has garnered over 10,000 signatures in support of reuniting Tebow with his former team. Tebow was a first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010.

Clearly, fans are concerned with the Broncos franchise resting on the talents of one Mark Sanchez. And for good reason.

Sanchez sports a mediocre 37-35 record as a starter with 86 career touchdowns compared to 84 interceptions in six seasons.

Those in support of Tebow returning must like the mobility he brings to the table. The former Heisman winner impressed on the ground in his two seasons with the Broncos, rushing for 887 yards and 12 scores.

It’s in the passing game that Tebow proved disastrous. During that very same two-year stretch, Tebow completed just 47.3 percent of his passes.

Whether this petition helps Tebow’s status as a free agent remains to be seen. The Philadelphia Eagles kicked the tires on Tebow last season before he was ultimately released during the preseason. That’s the last we have seen of the enigmatic signal caller in the NFL.
