Kevin Durant on Stephen Curry: ‘He makes bad shots’

The Golden State Warriors evened up the Western Conference Finals at a game a piece with a dominating in over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 on Wednesday night.

What seemed to be a close game through the first half turned into a blowout within the matter of a couple minutes, primarily due to reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry absolutely losing his mind.

During a two-minute stretch in the third quarter, Curry outscored the Thunder 15-2 all by himself, to put the Warriors up by 20.

It was an absolutely stunning performance from the two-time MVP.

In the end, Curry scored 19 of his 28 points in the third quarter to put the game away.

With the Thunder now coming off a 27-point loss, the team’s top stars are going to have to step it up in order to fend off the Warriors in Oklahoma City this upcoming weekend.

Knowing that full well, Kevin Durant touched on Curry’s Game 2 performance and how the team plans to defend him moving forward.

“He makes bad shots. You know, he makes those shots. And sometimes, you just gotta put a hand up and contest. You know, when you have a pick and roll, try to put a couple bodies on him,” Durant said after the loss. “But he makes some tough ones. And then we turned the ball over, he got a few in transition.”

First off, pretty much any shot Curry takes on the court is not a bad shot. Secondly, the Thunder need to do a better job contesting said shots. Simply put, Curry had too many open looks in the third quarter. As Durant stated that had to do with the turnover bug as well.

A player doesn’t score 15 points in less than two minutes unless he’s doing something write. Though, that also doesn’t occur unless the other team is dropping the ball (literally).

Oklahoma City and Golden State will have to wait until Sunday to play Game 3, at which point we will see if the Thunder have made the necessary adjustments.
