Jason Day chucks ball into water after 4-putt double-bogey

Jason Day’s third round has been almost as cold as his first two were hot. Okay, so maybe it hasn’t been that bad, but it sure must feel like it after Day’s four-putt double bogey on No. 6.

And things could have been even worse, as his fourth putt on the sixth green almost didn’t go in.

The greens are exceptionally quick out there on a breezy afternoon, and every minor mistake has been turning into major blunders for the players on the famed TPC Sawgrass Championship course.

Such was the case for Day, who lost his mojo in a major way on the sixth hole.

Afterwards, he couldn’t wait to chuck his ball into the water, and the look of disgust on his face was something he just couldn’t hide.

Suddenly, after appearing to be a shoo-in to win the 2016 PGA Championship this year after two blazing rounds, Day (-12) found himself just one shot ahead of Kevin Chappell, with three others two shots behind.
