Hawks Twitter account jokes about near-record halftime deficit

The Atlanta Hawks put up a miserable performance in the first half of their playoff game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, finding themselves trailing 74-38 by the time it reached the half.

With pretty much nothing to analyze as it relates to the team’s first-half performance, Atlanta’s official Twitter account sent this out at the half:

Yes, that’s Michael Jordan’s crying face instead of the Hawks score.

“Sad” would definitely be the best way to describe Atlanta’s first half performance.

Cleveland was just three shy of the single-game playoff mark for the most threes made, a record it would best about halfway through the third quarter. Its 36-point halftime lead was the biggest margin by any team in the NBA Playoffs since 1987.

But hey, at least the Hawks Twitter account scored one on social media during the game. That’s all that matters, right?
