San Diego Chargers select Joey Bosa No. 3 in 2016 NFL Draft

In a shocking move, the San Diego Chargers selected Joey Bosa No. 3 overall.

Bosa is a top player in the draft but there were questions about his character leading up to the big day. Additionally, the Chargers could have landed either Laremy Tunsil to protect Philip Rivers’ blind side or revamped their secondary with Jalen Ramsey, the safety out of Florida State.

Bosa will certainly be held to a high standard in light of his No. 3 overall selection.

He only had five sacks for Ohio State last season but did manage to apply pressure often, despite being double- and triple-teamed on many occasions.

Many scouts wonder if he has the explosion needed on the edge to beat NFL offensive tackles on a regular basis. Now he’ll have a chance to prove it. He should be a plug-and play pass rusher this year, or at the worst he’ll come in on third downs as a situational pass rusher.
