Report: LeSean McCoy not expected to face NFL discipline over fight with cops

LeSean McCoy

LeSean McCoy escaped legal ramifications over his altercation with cops in a Philadelphia bar, and now the NFL is expected to leave him be about the matter as well, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

This is fantastic news for the Bills and McCoy. Rapoport noted as well that Buffalo had been planning to deal with some sort of suspension stemming from the matter. Now that’s no longer an issue the franchise has to deal with, and along with the football benefit it minimizes any potential distraction it could have caused.

McCoy got into a fight with some off-duty police officers earlier this year, but the district attorney decided not to press charges, likely because it was found that the cops had been inebriated and potentially antagonistic.

It appears Roger Goodell and his office came to the same conclusion after reviewing the NFL’s ongoing investigation.

With the matter behind him, McCoy can now attend team offseason activities and training camp without worrying about any legal or criminal charges hanging over his head.

He was electric at times for the Bills last year when healthy (McCoy missed four games due to injury), running for 895 yards and three touchdowns and adding 32 catches for 292 yards and two touchdowns receiving.

With the return of Cordy Glenn and Richie Incognito on the offensive line, things should only get better in 2016.
