Reggie Miller: TNT crew could beat the Grizzlies in the playoffs

The NBA’s Western Conference Playoffs have been about as lopsided as any in recent history. While each series is still relatively early in its set, we have seen two games decided by 30-plus points and all four games decided by 20 or more.

Whether this changes the deeper we get into the first round is anyone’s guess. But what we do know is that the injury-riddled Memphis Grizzlies don’t stand much of a chance to compete in their first-round matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.

Following an embarrassing 32-point loss on Sunday, Memphis finds itself wondering whether any of the remaining games will be much closer.

Leave it to the always trash-talking Reggie Miller to throw some serious shade the Grizzlies way.

When asked whether the TNT crew could win a series against this current Grizzlies team, the analyst had this to say:

That’s Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, Kobe Bryant, Chris Webber, Dennis Johnson, Brent Barry and Miller.

Even years removed from playing a competitive game in the NBA, it’s hard to question Miller’s point here.

It really is unfortunate that the Grizzlies find themselves in this situation. Without the likes of Mike Conley and Marc Gasol for the playoffs, this team stands no real chance to even compete with San Antonio in one game, let alone during a seven-game series.

Think of it this way. Jordan Farmar and Xavier Munford combined to play 50 minutes from the point guard position on Sunday. Neither of them were in the NBA when the regular season started.

With all due respect to the guys Dave Joerger is throwing out there, about half a dozen non-playoff NBA teams could beat this squad in a best of seven. Now take into account they are playing a 67-win Spurs team, and it’s likely going to get even more embarrassing moving forward.
