Once considered a sure-fire first-round pick in the NFL draft, former Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman has other things to worry about in the lead up to the annual draft.

The former top prospect was arrested on sexual assault charges Wednesday in Waco, Texas.

The arrest comes after Oakman was interview by investigators from the police department, at which point he was served with a search warrants for his DNA and cell phone.

Here’s a release from the Waco Police Department:

Oakman, 23, admitted to having consensual sex with the alleged victim after spending time with her at a nightclub in early April (via the Houston Chronicle).

According to an affidavit from Waco police seeking the search warrant, the complaint says that Oakman “forcibly removed the victim’s clothing, forced victim onto the bed and proceeded to sexually assault her.”

Following the incident, the woman went to the Providence Medical Center emergency room where a rape kit was performed on her.

This is just the latest in a long line of sexual assault allegations that have surrounded the Baylor program under head coach Art Briles:

Remember, former Baylor players Sam Ukwuachu and Tevin Elliott have both been convicted of sexual assault in the past.

This really makes you think if there’s a culture problem within the Bears football program.
