Justin Blackmon facing prison time after pleading guilty to DUI

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon is a perfect case study of a college football star that failed to make the most of his abilities due to off-field issues.

Blackmon, a first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012, has not suited up in the National Football League since 2013.

He’s been under indefinite suspension by the league due to multiple violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

Arrested on DUI charges back December, Blackmon is now facing prison time after pleading guilty to said charges.

From TMZ:

“Former NFL star Justin Blackmon has pled guilty to 1 count of misdemeanor DUI … stemming from a December arrest in Oklahoma where video showed he could barely stand up straight.”

This was Blackmon’s second DUI in three years to go with myriad of failed NFL-conducted drug tests. In fact, he’s been arrested four different times since being drafted into the league.

While Blackmon technically remains a member of the Jaguars, it’s highly unlikely that he will ever suit up in the NFL again.

The No. 5 overall pick back in 2012, the Oklahoma State product jumped on to the scene as a rookie, tallying 93 receptions for 1,280 yards and six touchdowns in his first 20 games.

He hasn’t seen the field since being suspended by the NFL in late October of 2013.
