WATCH: Hockey Hair takes center stage in Minnesota

The glorious manes on display during hockey season are truly breathtaking to behold. In Minnesota, “Hockey Hair” is more than a passing fancy. High school hockey players have taken their hairstyles to another level in an effort to be recognized nationally for their efforts.

If you’re wondering why, Game On! Minnesota‘s narrator explains it thusly:

“Because Texas has their Friday Night Lights, Indiana has their Barnyard Hoops. Here in Minnesota, it’s the land of 10,000 locks — hockey is king. Our slides are giant, it’s all-you-can-drink milk, and we carve our princesses out of butter. More on that later…”

Last year’s All Hockey Hair Team video garnered more than 2.5 million hits on YouTube.

Published on March 5, just a few days ago, this year’s edition has already exceeded 680,000 views, which means it is likely to smash last year’s viewership by a few million.

It’s easy to see why.
