Heath Miller has retired after playing for 11 years in the NFL, all with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The veteran tight end announced his decision to step away from the game via the team’s website and Twitter account:

One of the most reliable tight ends of his generation, Miller missed just six games in his 11-year career.
He racked up 592 catches for 6,569 yards and 45 touchdowns over the course of his career — all team records for a tight end. He won two Super Bowls with the franchise, contributing heavily in both championship runs.
Though it’s unlikely Miller will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he was certainly one of the top tight ends of his generation.
Miller’s consistent production won’t easily be replaced. He was a stalwart in the middle for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who always seemed to look for his tight end on third downs and often found him to move the chains.
