Report: Carson Wentz has already met with Dolphins and Texans

Carson Wentz is one of the most intriguing quarterbacks coming into the 2016 NFL Draft, and he already has half the league interested in him.

Speaking with Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, Wentz said he has already met with the Miami Dolphins. This is interesting, because you’d think the only way the Dolphins could land him is in the first round, and they already have Ryan Tannehill.

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports the passer has also met with the Houston Texans, along with half the other teams. Houston desperately needs a franchise passer and will undoubtedly be looking hard at every top prospect.

The lanky quarterback from North Dakota State is being looked at with great interest this week by those in the NFL scouting community. He and dozens of other top prospects are preparing for the Senior Bowl, which takes place Saturday, January 30 in Mobile, Ala.

In four years as a Bison, Wentz completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 5,115 yards with 45 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Because he played for such a small school, we really don’t yet know how he’ll fare against top national competition.

This upcoming game Saturday will be a big test for Wentz. If he passes with flying colors, proving worthy of the buzz, then it seems likely he’ll end up as one of the most talked-about prospects leading up to the combine, and the draft.
