New York fashion police want to give Ben McAdoo a makeover

When New York Giants new head coach Ben McAdoo addressed the press last week, he showed up at the podium wearing an awkwardly oversized suit from a past year’s wardrobe.

This is something McAdoo might be able to get away with in another state such as North Dakota. However, McAdoo’s drab look didn’t sit well with designers in the fashion capital of the United States.

Since McAdoo’s press conference, several designers and fashion stylists have made their services available to the coach, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.

And, the reason McAdoo was swimming in his dark blue suit last week is because he has lost approximately 60 pounds. So, he wasn’t offended when the fashion police offered their services.

“I guess I’m surprised it got that much attention,” McAdoo said during an ESPN Radio interview (h/t Schwartz). “I take it as a compliment. I worked really hard over the last year to get in a little better shape, get in a little better condition. I’ll take that as a compliment.”

Ready to ditch his oversized duds and sport a new look for 2016, McAdoo is all set for his makeover.

“We got ’em lined up, they’re ready to come in. I told ’em if they’re free, I’ll take three.”

At least McAdoo attempted to dress to impress when he was announced as the Giants head coach. This is something other head coaches — perhaps Bill Belichick — could take into consideration when preparing to take the podium.
