Bengals fan allegedly peed on someone during fight in stands

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The wild card game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals was incredibly chippy on the field and apparently, just as chippy in the seats.

Rebecca Butts of the Cincinnati Enquirer reported that six fans were arrested.

Scrolling down the list, they’re mostly fistfights, including some men punching women. While those are all disgusting, they’re sadly not surprising to anyone who’s been to an NFL game over the last few years. A combination of alcohol and sheer stupidity makes felonious behavior all too common.

But one arrest that occurred in Cincinnati definitely stands out. As poor as fan behavior can be at football games, this is not something you see everyday.

“Martin Cooke, 33, of Germantown, Kentucky, was arrested after police said he urinated on the person in front of him in Paul Brown Stadium. Cooke, who wore a Bengals hoodie, is accused of fighting with the man and punching him in the face, court documents state. He is facing disorderly conduct and assault charges. Cooke is scheduled to appear in court Monday.”

There may not be any specific rules against this kind of behavior (Thou shalt not pee on your fellow fan), but there shouldn’t have to be. It’s hard to do something at an NFL game so disgusting that it’s actually shocking, but Mr. Cooke of Germantown, Kentucky allegedly did that, and then some.
