The New York Giants playoff hopes are already hanging by a thread. And if the NFL comes down with what wouldn’t be a surprising punishment sometime this week, said playoff hopes could take another hit.
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, those within the NFL league office in New York City believe Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. should have been ejected for this dirty hit on Carolina Panthers corner Josh Norman during the team’s close loss on Sunday:

If you were following along on social media, you noticed that individuals close to the NFL itself were shocked that the second-year receiver didn’t get tossed.
All said, Beckham Jr. committed three personal foul penalties in what was a frustrating overall game for for the talented young pass catcher. It’s the most personal fouls called on a wide receiver in a single game in 15 years.
The scene in New Jersey was about as ugly as it gets between the two Pro Bowl-caliber performers, as Norman himself was called for two personal foul penalties himself in the Panthers narrow 38-35 win.
If Beckham Jr. is suspended for a game, he will likely miss next week’s outing against the Minnesota Vikings — a game New York needs desperately to remain in the NFC East race.
Beckham Jr. ended the game with six receptions for 76 yards, including a late-game touchdown against Norman to pull the Giants even prior to a game-winning Panthers field goal as time expired.
