One of the more talented young pass-rushers in the league was released by the New York Giants Friday. Damontre Moore, who never realized his potential with the G-men, had a track record of behavioral issues, leading to the move to cut him from the team.

And now we might know have intel on the final straw that broke the camel’s back.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported the pass-rusher got into a fight with veteran teammate Cullen Jenkins because he didn’t get Beats by Dre headphones like the rest of the players did.

Earlier in the day, Dan Graziano of ESPN conveyed the nature of his troubles, per “multiple sources,” that Moore “had behavior and maturity issues that had not improved during his three years in the NFL.”

This latest report certainly illustrates both issues perfectly, and it could be the reason the team finally let him go after giving him a chance for two-plus seasons.

Moore tallied 66 tackles and 8.5 sacks during his tenure with the Giants. It will be interesting to see if another team tried to take the bull by the horns, so to speak, by bringing him aboard in the hopes of settling him down so he can excel on the field.
