The Miami Dolphins continued their purge of the coaching staff, announcing Monday morning that offensive coordinator Bill Lazor has been fired.
Per the team, quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor will take over the play-calling responsibilities.

Miami is officially without the headliners of the coaching staff that started the season. The franchise handed pink slips to head coach Joe Philbin and defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle two months ago.
For all intents and purposes, not-completely qualified assistant coaches are officially leading the Dolphins. Tight ends coach Dan Campbell is the interim head coach, Taylor is running the offense and defensive backs coach Lou Anarumo is in charge of the defense.
Lazor was shown the door after the team lost its fourth game in five weeks and dropped to 4-7. Miami destroyed the Tennessee Titans 38-10 and the Houston Texans 44-26 but has since averaged 15.6 points per contest while only beating the reeling Philadelphia Eagles.
Overall in 2015, the Dolphins—who boast a large group of talent at the skill positions but haven’t managed to overcome an awful offensive line—have the 24th-ranked offense and scored the sixth-fewest points in the league.
Lazor’s firing was inevitable, and Miami simply discarded another coach who was on the way out during the offseason anyway.
Plus, the interim titles likely won’t become permanent jobs for Campbell, Taylor and Anarumo. Expect an entirely new staff for the Dolphins in 2016.
