In a move that will carry heavy ramifications moving forward, the Nevada Gaming Control Board has reportedly banned daily fantasy websites from the State of Nevada. The board views these sites as gambling websites, according to Howard Stulz of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Many have seen this as an inevitable conclusion, that daily fantasy sports are nothing more than gambling websites.

The first sign of trouble emerged in early September when a DraftKings employee was investigated for using insider information to win big money on the site FanDuel.

And, just last week we had our first class-action lawsuit against the two big corporations that have become so prominent on our television screens. Per the Associated Press, the lawsuit “alleges that DraftKings and FanDuel violated fraud, negligence and consumer protection laws by allowing employees to access certain information while also participating in daily fantasy contests.”

It certainly appears the daily fantasy bubble might be bursting even earlier than many predicted it would. Stay tuned, because this story is just getting started.
