Report: Jeremiah Ratliff made death threats to Bears’ staffers, said ‘I am the devil’

The story of Jeremiah Ratliff continues to get stranger. A week after the defensive tackle was escorted from team facilities by security and subsequently cut after an altercation with general manager Ryan Pace, more information has been revealed, none of it good.

Per the police report, obtained by TMZ, Ratliff walked into the Bears facility on October 21st to grab some of his personal belongings and told someone “He felt like killing everybody in the building.”

The report also notes Ratliff told someone, “I am the devil” and “he wished staff member’s children would die.”

Not surprisingly one Bears official was concerned about the safety of team staff members. Per the report he warned the police the team they believed Ratliff “owns multiple firearms.”

After the incident with Pace and the subsequent removal of Ratliff from team facilities by security, there weren’t any other details released by the team. This report sheds more light on a dark situation, and at this point it seems fortunate nobody was hurt during Ratliff’s angry tirade.

One wonders if this is the final straw for Ratliff, who also had to be escorted off team facilities the day after Christmas last year after another altercation. At the age of 34, with his best years behind him and a history of acting out, it seems his career is likely over.
