Pete Carroll: Bengals offense is NFL’s ‘best challenge’ right now

The Cincinnati Bengals offense has dominated the first four weeks of the 2015 NFL season, and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has taken notice.

According to Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR, Carroll offered high praise for the 4-0 Bengals.

Through four games, Cincinnati is the league’s No. 2 offense behind only the New England Patriots. Thanks to a stellar opening stretch from oft-inconsistent quarterback Andy Dalton, the Bengals have tallied 422.0 yards and 30.2 points per outing.

Additionally, Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill have combined for 460 rushing yards and six touchdowns, while A.J. Green has racked up 417 yards and three scores. Tyler Eifert has added three touchdowns.

Cincinnati lit into the Oakland Raiders for a 20-point victory in Week 1, held off the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens during Weeks 2 and 3 then hammered the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

Yes, the Bengals offense is on a roll but Dalton and Co. haven’t faced a defense like Seattle’s. The Seahawks are once again among the league’s top units, and Kam Chancellor’s return after a two-game holdout has only bolstered Seattle’s perennial lockdown defense.

Cincinnati is off to a great start, while the Seahawks are 9-11 over their last 20 early-slate kickoffs. Carroll knows Seattle will be challenged on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, but the Bengals will be tested, too.
