Aaron Rodgers avoided throwing an interception at Lambeau Field for nearly three years, but the Green Bay Packers quarterback doesn’t look at the streak ending as much of a relief.
Per ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Rodgers said there’s only one bright side, though he essentially hopes a particular annoyance happens again.
“Maybe the only relief is not being asked about it every week. But I hope to be asked at some point again to have a similar streak.”
Rodgers officially threw 586 passes between interceptions before St. Louis Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis dove to snag a tipped pass during the first quarter of last Sunday’s matchup.
Rodgers ended up throwing a second pick later on, though Green Bay ultimately finished a 24-10 thanks to four interceptions from the defense.
While it seems insane that Rodgers would be able to match that NFL-record mark, he is playing the position at perhaps the highest level of any quarterback in the history of the game.
Rodgers also said “it’s frustrating turning the ball over. Just got to start a good streak.” He’ll have that opportunity on Sunday when the Packers host the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
