Charles James, who quickly became a fan favorite on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series, wasn’t employed for long after the Houston Texans cut the third-year cornerback.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, James will join the Baltimore Ravens practice squad.

The 25-year-old went undrafted in 2013 before ultimately appearing 12 games with the New York Giants that season. James then signed with the Houston Texans last October and was placed on the practice squad.

Recently, though, James found his way into homes all around the globe thanks to his relentless attitude on the practice field this summer. Aided by his peculiar sock collection and a 73-yard touchdown run (yes, one that was called back due to a holding penalty), James was widely adored on “Hard Knocks.”

It’s safe to say a majority of viewers hoped he’d earn a spot on Houston’s 53-man roster.

That didn’t happen with the Texans, but maybe James’ story has a happy ending in Baltimore, which kept five cornerbacks. If any of the Ravens sustain an injury or underperform—keep an eye on Lardarius Webb in both regards—James could receive a call to the active roster.

And if he does make the jump, James’ “Hard Knocks” faithful will surely tune in for his 2015 debut.
