Jason Pierre-Paul: I don’t need index finger to sack quarterbacks

Jason Pierre-Paul is utilizing a full-court press strategy on social media to attempt to convince fans, the New York Giants, and perhaps himself, that he’s ready to contribute on the gridiron.

The Giants are reportedly discouraged about Pierre-Paul’s ability to do so, which is why the franchise essentially broke off talks of a return with the pass-rusher after a recent visit. He has yet to sign the franchise tender, and it doesn’t appear that will happen any time soon.

After showing off his physique in a recent Instagram video, which sort of showed off his hand in action, Pierre-Paul sent out this tweet on Thursday morning.

Whispers that his hand is actually in much worse shape than originally reported have been emerging ever since he was first spotted in public wearing a big wrap on the injured appendage. Since that time, rumors that he is actually missing part of his thumb and another finger have emerged, which would explain why the Giants are reportedly not encouraged that he can play at all this season.

Another concern that surely must be contributing to New York’s reluctance to get JPP on the field any time soon is just how skinny he looked in the video posted on Tuesday. He doesn’t look bulky enough to take on NFL offensive tackles right now, and if his hand is actually in worse shape than originally indicated, then it could definitely be a while before he’s ready to take the field.
