Eli Manning is happy that Tom Brady will play in the NFL season-opener

The support that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been receiving since his four-game suspension was vacated in federal court has been nothing short of overwhelming.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who has two Super Bowl victories over Brady, shared his support when asked his thoughts about Judge Richard Berman’s ruling (via CSNNE.com):

“I saw it today, and I am happy for Tom. I know it has probably been a stressful offseason and few months. I am happy he will be back playing and that he will be playing next week. I try not to get too involved in all that, and I don’t know all the details. [NFL commissioner Roger Goodell] has a job to do, but I am just glad Tom can play next week.”

The Giants played the Patriots in the final preseason game where Brady was not in attendance. We can imagine what a media nightmare that could have turned out to be.

The next time the two quarterbacks will come face to face is in Week 10 when Giants host the Patriots at MetLife Stadium. As much as Brady surely appreciates Manning’s support, he will likely wait to thank him for it after attempting to crush him underfoot.
