Bret Bielema to Kliff Kingsbury: ‘Don’t be so sensitive’

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema, who isn’t exactly known for a reserved style in front of a microphone, unsuccessfully tried to downplay the aftermath of his team losing to Kliff Kingsbury’s Texas Tech squad on Saturday.

Kingsbury told the media during the postgame press conference that Texas Tech’s 35-24 victory was a [butt]-kicking—and it was. ESPN’s Jake Trotter notes Kingsbury said he’s “moved on” from the incident.

Bielema, on the other hand, certainly has not.

According to Arkansas-based radio host Bo Mattingly, Bielema thinks Kingsbury shouldn’t be so sensitive.

Bielema then reversed course and brought up Arkansas’ 49-28 win last year, which was hilariously strange and quite a bit sensitive.

That’s now the second straight week Bielema has made headlines for something he said and couldn’t back up.

Bielema bashed Ohio State for its weak schedule, since Arkansas was slated to face eight ranked opponents. The Razorbacks then lost to Toledo—yes, Toledo—the next day.

Perhaps Bielema should think twice before commenting on another team and focus on Arkansas’ tremendously difficult remaining schedule.

Of course, if that doesn’t work out, he still has that 49-28 victory over an unranked opponent in 2014 to fall back on.
