The Cowboys Classic pits an SEC power in Alabama vs. Wisconsin, but somewhat shockingly, the neutral site showdown is having trouble selling tickets as game day rapidly approaches.
According to NFL Media’s Gil Brandt, only 40,000 tickets have been sold for the weekend’s only matchup between ranked teams, and apparently, Badgers fans aren’t drawn to the clash.
They're having trouble selling tix to the #ALAvsWIS game on Saturday. Only around 40k sold as of yesterday. Very few bought by Badger fans.

AT&T Stadium lists a capacity of 80,000, and it would be shocking to see a hyped-up game barely fill half of the seats.
According to Seat Geek, the cheapest tickets are currently $72, so price shouldn’t necessarily pose much of a barrier to simply attending what was expected to be a raucous environment.
Wisconsin fans usually travel particularly well, evidenced by strong support when the Badgers reached the Rose Bowl in consecutive seasons. Plus, that the Alabama faithful hasn’t purchased a few more seats is eyebrow-raising as well.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sep. 5, and ABC will televise the matchup. Perhaps AT&T Stadium will ultimately have a few more butts in the seats—or maybe Alabama and Wisconsin will square off in an emptier space than both programs anticipated.
