This summer has NFL quarterback Terrelle Pryor transforming into a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns.
So far, the experiment has received mixed reviews. Last Wednesday, it was reported by some of Pryor’s teammates that they were not very optimistic about him successfully pulling off a switch in NFL position.
Now, Pryor is gaining some positive feedback regarding his new position from some of the team including cornerback Joe Haden who shared this (via Cleveland.com):
“He’s fast, he’s huge, and it looks like it could work.”
Pryor is indeed a big fellow who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 232 pounds. Haden’s praises were not the only ones Pryor received.
“What gives me hope and excitement is just watching him on the first day (of camp),” said Browns receivers coach Joker Phillips, per The Plain Dealer. “He’s very, very talented and he’s willing.”
Pryor has much work ahead if he wants to remain on the Browns 53-man roster once the preseason concludes. Right now, he sits behind wideouts Dwayne Bowe, Brian Hartline, Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel. Additionally, Pryor will need outplay rookie Vince Mayle and Travis Benjamin to gain a leg up.
What Pryor has going for him is obviously his massive size and incredible 4.3 speed. Haden noted also that Pryor is bigger than Josh Gordon, “size-wise.”
Changing positions at the NFL level of production is clearly not an easy task. However it was noted by the Browns head coach Mike Pettine last week that he believes Pryor is ahead of where the team thought he would be at this point.

For now, all Pryor can do is keep working his hardest to perfect his techniques over the next few weeks. Perhaps we will witness a few Josh McCown to Pryor touchdowns this season.
