Tampa Bay Rays Giving Free Tickets to Military Personnel For Remainder of the Season

In an awesome act of generosity that will lift up the lives of so many who deserve to be given special treatment every once in a while, the Tampa Bay Rays are giving out free tickets to military personnel for the remainder of the season.

With 30 home games remaining on the schedule, each member of the military that decides to take the Rays up on this offer, can attend every remaining game for free. They can also take a loved one or a friend to enjoy in our national pastime.

The program called “Rays Honor Pass,” will also be available to all dependents of military personnel including spouses, children and widowers.

This act of kindness comes at a time when the Rays are struggling selling tickets. They rank dead last in baseball with an average attendance of under 15,000 per game.

It still affords members of the military an opportunity to watch a contending team in what will likely be a drama-filled pennant race in the American League East. Tampa Bay is currently 46-46 on the season and 4.5 games out of first.

More than that, it’s a tremendous show of generosity from the organization—generosity that could help bring the community together.

Tampa is home to MacDill Air Force Base.
