Report: Ty Lawson Arrested for Second DUI in 2015

According to TMZ, Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson was arrested for driving under the influence early Thursday morning in Los Angeles, California.

Per the report:

“[California Highway Patrol] officers determined he showed signs of intoxication … so they gave him a field sobriety test.

Didn’t go so good for Lawson. He was arrested around 2:30 AM.”

Lawson was pulled over in January for speeding, then arrested under suspicion of drunk driving. According to the report, he failed a field sobriety test and refused a chemical test.

For Lawson’s sake and the safety of others, hopefully he learns from the mistake. Lives are lost every day due to drunk driving, and it would be disheartening to see a third offense.

Lawson recently noted he’d like to leave Denver in favor of the Dallas Mavericks. Plus, the Nuggets selected Emmanuel Mudiay with their first-round pick in the 2015 draft.

Consequently, Denver may choose to distance itself from the disgruntled Lawson after a series of poor decisions.
