Brandon Graham on Tim Tebow: “he is going to make the team”

Not many outside of the Philadelphia Eagles organization have a working knowledge of what the team plans for veteran quarterback Tim Tebow, who it signed back in the spring.

The one thing we do know is that the former Heisman winner put himself in the best possible situation to earn a roster spot. Not only is he looking to make a comeback in a quarterback-friendly scheme, the 27-year-old signal caller appears to be ahead of Matt Barkley on the team’s depth chart. This means that if it decides to keep three quarterbacks—a real strong possibility with Sam Bradford’s injury history—Tebow will be on the 53-man roster.

Speaking up about the team’s new quarterback heading into training camp, pass rusher Brandon Graham had this to say:

“Tim Tebow is going to shock a lot of people, because he is going to make the team,” Graham said, (h/t CBS Philadelphia). “And I think he will play a lot.”

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has yet to announce a starter for the season, though it’s likely Bradford will get the nod if he’s healthy. If Bradford somehow struggles in camp or shows he’s not 100 percent by Week 1, then the competition gets rather interesting. Mark Sanchez performed at a slightly above-average clip last year with former starter Nick Foles injured. One would have to think he’d get the nod.
