Seattle Seahawks to Test out “Dynamic” Pricing for Individual Game Tickets

On July 13, the Seattle Seahawks will put 2,000 individual game tickets on sale. However, the tickets will reportedly vary in pricing for the same seat due to the Seahawks implementing what is called “dynamic” pricing.

The 2,000 tickets going on sale soon will differ in price depending on the marquee value of the opposing team. This boils down to the more popular the opponent, the higher the ticket price will be. The Detroit Lions and New England Patriots offered “dynamic” pricing on their tickets last year.

It is reported that the weather could also factor into the variable ticket prices. Essentially a ticket to watch the Seahawks host the St. Louis Rams late season in Week 16 may sell for less than that same seat to watch Seattle host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11.

“Dynamic” pricing has been the trend for most professional sports leagues. The NFL is slowly embracing it because they play less games and they sell out of stadiums quicker.

As for Seattle, the tickets won’t be available for long. Last year individual game tickets made available online were sold out in just minutes. If you plan to purchase single-game tickets, act fast and be prepared to pay more for the higher-profile matchups.
